The winegrowing project, has involved the cultivation of a 15 hectares vineyard. Much of the land is dedicated to the cultivation of the typical grape variety of Elba Island: the Aleatico; whose grapes are used for the production of the Rosato (about 18,000 bottles) and the production of sweet wine: Aleatico Passito (5000 half bottles).
A very small output of Grappa (around 300 bottles) exclusively distilled from Aleatico marc is made by Capovilla; in Rosà (Vicenza).
In the Gorgaccio vinyard, facing east and in those of the "Pascoli Alti " at 350 meters above sea level; where the climate is cooler, it produces the “Bianco delle Ripalte”- IGT Costa Toscana Vermentino about 25,000 bottles).
A fragrant wine; decided in taste with an excellent flavor The “Rosso delle Ripalte” is produced from grapes of Alicante (Grenache) and Carignano, common to the whole Mediterranean basin and well adapted to arid and dry climate of Elba.
The result is truly extraordinary: a Mediterranean red "different" from the great character, harmonious and finish with a surprisingly elegant that fits very well with seafood dishes typical of the Tuscan coast. 4 hectares of vineyards producing around 15,000 bottles per year.

Pier Mario Meletti Cavallari
Having entered the Company at the outset of the winegrowing project he is its manager and director.
Involvement derived from his passion for fortified wines with the unique qualities of the Ripalte “terroir”.
A new adventure after his first career as a senior manager in Milan, the pioneering spirit of the wine bar in Bergamo Alta and the thirty-year experience as a winegrower in Grattamacco; in this holding, that has always featured on the "classic" labels of D.O.C. Bolgheri, he had already planted a row of Aleatico with which to make some wine for his friends.
Alea Ludendo’s motto, emblazoned on the bottle, sums up very well the grit with which he faces this challenge: establishing a new company, on an island, making a wine that is difficult to make, not very well-known nationally and completely ignored by the international market.
"Playing" or "flirting with destiny" is the English translation, of this Latin motto.
