DESCRIPTION:

From the vineyards of Poggio Turco grown in Aleatico, come the grapes for the production of the Rosato delle Ripalte. It is a new interpretation of an old variety, grown on the high terraces overlooking the sea at the southernmost tip of the island.

It shares with the Aleatico Passito the scents of wild roses and the note of Mediterranean maquis; the structure, on the contrary, is light but does not deprive us of a long and complex taste.
The colour of this Rosato is close to the pink Tea and evokes sensations of freshness that are punctually found in the wine. With this new wine, we are able to enjoy, at the same time, the richness of the primary aromas of flowers and fruit and the excellent taste of a dry and clean product, to be enjoyed as an aperitif or at the beginning of the meal.



Vinification and aging: After the harvest, when fully ripe, the Aleatico grapes are crushed and then undergo a soft pressing; the must is fermented at a controlled temperature of 15-18 degrees Celsius C. The resulting wine is very fresh with typical Aleatico scents, such as rosehip, violet, morello cherry, but at the same time rich in the aromatic fragrance typical of the Mediterranean maquis. The product is therefore, on the whole, a pleasantly harmonic, pleasurably savoury, balanced wine.

CHARACTERISTICS AND TASTE:

Look: deep pink colour, with golden reflections.
Smell: aggressive, rich in primary aromas, flowers and fruit slightly caramelized with a hint of Mediterranean scrub.
Taste: very balanced and fresh, harmonious and delicately fruity. It is recommended to be enjoyed at 11 – 12° C. In addition to the classic combinations with the island's seafood and rustic cuisine, the Rosato finds an ideal match in starters based on raw fish, as well as in risottos, especially with asparagus; it also goes well with sweet cheeses, of medium consistency and not too mature. Very enjoyable as an aperitif.
